Malala Yousafzai and Kailash
Satyarthi were jointly awarded the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize
"for their struggle against the suppression of children
and young people and for the right of all children to
education".
The United Nations declared 12 July , her 16th
birthday, “Malala
Day” in honour of her courage and determination, and for
inspiring others to speak out for their rights.
